Wrestling Lockup With Brandon 11/1/17: Smackdown Live Norfolk Recap

Smackdown Live was live in Norfolk, Virginia. This week Smackdown Live brought more treats than tricks for Halloween as Dolph Ziggler battled Bobby Roode in a 2 Out of 3 Falls Match. Also more WWE Survivor Series news as we move closer to the traditional November pay per view.

** Smackdown Live Card **

- Bobby Roode battled Dolph Ziggler in a 2 out of 3 falls match.
- WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin battled Sin Cara in a non title match.
- AJ Styles battled Samir Singh.
- Big E battled Rusev.
- Kevin Owens battled Shinsuke Nakamura.

- The Fashion Files: Stranger Things Edition.

** Smackdown Live **
 

- Shane McMahon Promo: Shane says he attacked RAW last week because he's sick of everyone looking down on Smackdown Live. Shane says he and Daniel Bryan created their roster, went live and created the land of opportunity. Shane says they decided that the best way to make a statement was go to RAW and kick them right in the mouth. Shane thanks the fans for standing by and supporting Smackdown Live. Shane announces that he will be the team captain on Smackdown Live for the 5-On-5 Men's Elimination Match and announces Randy Orton as the second of five men on the team. 

- "2 Out Of 3 Falls Match, To Determine A Spot On Team Smackdown Live": Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler:

** First Fall: Roode sends Ziggler into the barricade outside as the referee counts. Both men make it back into the ring before the ten count where Ziggler nails Roode with a super kick. Ziggler covers, scores the pinfall and takes the 1-0 lead.

** Second Fall: Roode sends Ziggler head first into the turnbuckle. Roode rolls up Ziggler and scores the pinfall to tie things at 1-1.

** Final Fall: Roode counters the Fameasser. Ziggler counters the Glorious DDT and gets a near fall rollup. Both men trade offense until Roode hits a spine buster. Ziggler counters the Glorious DDT and gets a near fall Zig Zag on Roode. Roode counters a super kick and both men counter cheating rollups with tight grabs. Roode hits the Glorious DDT on Ziggler and scores the pinfall to win the match 2-1.
Winner: Bobby Roode, earning a spot on Team Smackdown Live in the 5-On-5 Men's Elimination Match at WWE Survivor Series.

- Backstage, The New Day are dressed like Jimmy Hart, Brother Love and Akeem. Rusev says Rusev Day is better than Halloween and dumps Big E's Halloween candy. Big E challenges Rusev to a match later tonight.

- Backstage, Becky Lynch tells her team that she's sick of hearing that Smackdown Live is the B show. Becky says they all need to get on the same page now forcing James Ellsworth to interrupt. Ellsworth gets sprayed with a water bottle as Nattie Neidhart interrupts and says it's too bad she's not leading the team, but she'll be busy beating Alexa Bliss. Nattie taunts Charlotte and says that she hopes Charlotte isn't the weakest link that costs them the match.

- Baron Corbin vs. Sin Cara: The match closes out with Sin Cara sending Corbin into the steel steps and into the ring post. Corbin tackles Sin Cara over the announcers table, but Sin Cara takes control and ground and pounds Corbin repeatedly until the referee DQ's him.
Winner: Baron Corbin, by DQ.

- After the match, Sin Cara continues to beat down Corbin until he finally escapes.

- Backstage, The Usos are interviewed. The Usos guarantee that they'll prove that they're the superior tag team at WWE Survivor Series when they beat Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable interrupt and announce that they'll get their tag team title match next week so they might be fighting Ambrose and Rollins at WWE Survivor Series. 

- Jinder Mahal Promo: Mahal says he was ejected from last week's match because AJ Styles fears him. Mahal says he'll put that same fear into Brock Lesnar and taunts the WWE Universal Champion. Mahal says that the beast will be victimized and conquered at WWE Survivor Series and Mahal will then be called The Beast Master. Mahal then mocks Styles and then speaks to his Indian fans in Punjabi. Styles interrupts and he's ready for his match with Samir Singh.

- AJ Styles vs. Samir Singh: The match closes out with Styles destroying Samir quickly with the Styles Clash to score the pinfall.
Winner: AJ Styles, by pinfall.

- After the match, Jinder Mahal and Sunil Singh attack Styles. Styles gets sent into the turnbuckle and then gets laid out with the Cobra Clutch Slam. Mahal goes to leave the ring, but comes back and hits Styles with another Cobra Clutch Slam.

- Backstage, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn mock Shane McMahon. Zayn then asks what kind of man cheats with a low blow like Randy Orton did last week. Owens says he's beating Shinsuke Nakamura tonight and then Shane will owe them after they single handedly win at WWE Survivor Series for Team Smackdown Live.

- Big E vs. Rusev: The match closes out with Aiden English singing to distract Big E. Xavier Woods interrupts English by playing Francesca. English takes out Woods then gets chased by Kofi, distracting the referee. Big E plants English with the Big Ending. Rusev catches Big E distracted and nails a thrust kick to score the pinfall.
Winner: Rusev, by pinfall.

- Backstage, Sin Cara is interviewed. Sin Cara says Baron Corbin tried to disrespect Sin Cara tonight by trying to rip off his mask during their match. Sin Cara says he went through hell to earn the mask, he'll go through hell to keep it. 

- Backstage, Rusev and Aiden English brag to Shane McMahon about Rusev Day. Rusev feels he deserved a spot on Team Smackdown Live. Shane announces Rusev vs. AJ Styles for next week with the winner getting the fifth and final spot.

- The Fashion Files: Stranger Things Edition: It appears that The Ascension gets beat down in this edition by an unknown team. A mysterious voice is then heard saying "Let the games begin."

- Kevin Owens vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: The match closes out with Owens getting a near fall Frogsplash. Sami Zayn clears off the announcers table for Owens when Randy Orton suddenly arrives and dumps Zayn on the announcers table. Owens gets distracted and ends up getting hit with the Kinshasa by Nakamura. Nakamura covers and scores the pinfall.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura, by pinfall.
